It’s officially derby time in the 7550! The entire week of anticipation builds up to this weekend as Hoërskool Stellenberg hosts Hoërskool Durbanville in the biggest Interskole showdown in the Northern Suburbs.

If you are heading out to support or just trying to navigate the neighbourhood traffic, here is what you need to know:

  • The Host: Hoërskool Stellenberg

  • Friday, 31 July: Gates open at 11:30 (starts 12:30). R30 entry.

  • Saturday, 1 August: Gates open early at 06:30 (matches start 07:30). R50 general access.

  • The Main Attraction: The 1st team rugby clash kicks off Saturday afternoon at 12:30 on the main field (also broadcasting live on SuperSport DStv Channel 216 and the SuperSport Schools App if you can't make the sidelines).

  • Traffic Alert: Expect heavy traffic around Panorama Drive, Eversdal, and surrounding Stellenryk roads across Friday afternoon and all day Saturday.

  • Major Local Roadworks Ahead: City roadworks have officially kicked off across Durbanville and will run until 12 November. Work is scheduled for weekdays between 09:00 and 15:30. Affected local areas include Valmary Park (Jacaranda Ave, Panorama Dr), Vygeboom (Tugela Rd), Langeberg Ridge, Wellway Park East, Vierlanden, and Schoongezicht. Expect temporary delays, lane closures and construction noise—plan your school runs and commutes accordingly!

  • Free Evening Parking at Willowbridge: If you're dining out around Willowbridge this winter, taking advantage of free parking after 17:00 (when using the admyt app) makes weeknight dinners that little bit easier.

  • Silence on the Fairways: Heading out to Durbanville Golf Club this weekend? Leave the Bluetooth speakers at home. Following member feedback requesting a quieter atmosphere on the course, portable music speakers have officially been banned during play.
